All are welcome to join.  Classes at the studio are small (8–12 students) and feature individualized attention and adjustments along with detailed instruction and demonstration.

UPCOMING WORKSHOPS AND SPECIAL CLASSES — please email me if you are interested in attending any of these sessions.

Saturday February 4, 2012, 3 hour workshop, Women’s Workshop (Part II) from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Whether you participated in the first workshop or not, please feel free to attend this informative session designed to deal specifically with the female body as it moves through life’s many cycles and stages.  We will recap some of the information covered in the first session and move on to lots of new areas.  Techniques will be provided on how to manage various health concerns including headaches/migraines, insomnia, the digestive system, the circulatory system, PMS and pre and post menopause.  Students are welcome to raise specific concerns during the workshop if they are comfortable doing so.  This should prove to be a very informative and interactive session.  Cost $35.

Special Class for new students: An Introduction to Iyengar Yoga, Saturday February 11th. 2012 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am

During this class we will focus on activating your body through Iyengar Yoga asana techniques using the principles of alignment to safely guide you through the practice.

  • Learn about your own body
  • Feel your muscles and bones and how they perform in certain postures
  • Listen to the clues that your body is giving you
  • Create softness where you are tight and strength where you are weak

Cost: $25, pre-registration

Wednesday February 8th, 9:30-11:30 am, 2 hour miscellaneous class focusing on abdominal poses.  These poses teach us how to strengthen and balance our core while supporting our spine and improving our overall posture.  Cost:  $25, pre-registration required.

Wednesday February 15th, 9:30 – 11:30 am, 2 hour miscellaneous class focusing on strengthening poses.  Students often ask me whether or not they should lift weights.  In yoga we use the weight that is perfect and safe for us (the weight of our own bodies) to gain strengthen and stability.  Learn how to properly bare weight and increase your strength. Cost $25, pre-registration required.

Saturday March 10th, 1:00 – 4:00 pm, 3 hour Back Care Workshop, approximately 85% of the adult population suffers from or will suffer from back problems (some chronic, some intermitant).  Yoga is a proven method for drug free back care and healing.  Learn how to care for your back and strengthen it safely with a program that is customized for you and your spine.  Cost $35, pre-registration required.

Wednesday March 28th, 9:30 – 11:30 am, 2 hour restorative class, rejuvenate and relax as we head into spring with a restorative class that will focus on sinus issues, chest conjestion and the excess water in the environment during this time of Kapha (element of water).  Cost $25, pre-registration required.

Saturday March 31st, 1:00 – 4:00 pm, 3 hour Detox Workshop, spring is one of the best times to detox and cleanse the body.  This class willl take you through a series of Asana and Pranayama techniques that will remove the sluggishness of winter and invigorate the digestive system and your senses.  Cost $35, pre-registration required.
