Wednesday May 23rd, 2012 Standing Poses Workshop 9:30 –12:30.  Pre-registration required, cost $35.  The benefits of standing poses are numerous.  They help us build strength and stamina while increasing our flexibility.  On a deeper level, in standing poses, our internal organs become healthier from the intelligence these poses bring, our nervous systems strengthens and we gain more vitality while heightening our mental awareness.  Most importantly we learn how to balance our brain.

Wednesday May 30th , 2012 9:30–11:30, Miscellaneous class Supported Backbends.  Pre-registration required.  Cost $25.   To understand and support the spine in its various movements (flexion, extension, twisting, etc.) we need to slow down and feel the back of our bodies.  This is easier said than done.  Using supported backbending postures we will work deeply with the actions of the spine while opening the heart and lungs.  Through this we will benefit from going more deeply and holding for longer periods of time.  Backbends are nature’s anti-depressant.
